I would like to carry my 10-foot RIB Dink with its 15 HP engine on davits. Has anyone had experience, good or bad, trying to install davits on a scoop transom boat?

Yes, but . . .

Kato marine of Annapolis custom made our davits for our P42. However, the boat weighs 65 lbs. and the motor is 22 lbs. A P45 in the same marina had Kato made davits for his hard bottom and 15 HP motor. Ours are very light weight by design. His are heavy duty. So, it can be done. But I would also consider what hangin all that weight out aft will do to your trim. You might want to switch to all chain rode or something to balance it out.

I like Kato davits

I had called both, Ocean Marine and Kato.. Kato worked with me and made a special mounting bracket. Ocean Marine just wanted to sell me the standard kit.

Passage 42 problem

We have looked, but not bought. The biggest issue is that on the Passage 42 the stern rail is unsupported. For the davits to work it has to be reinforced with additional mounts/cables. While shopping around at the Annapolis Boat show, Kato in Annapolis seemed to know the most about the P42 and has done this design before. They have pictures. I have also seen a company that will make a second arch, which seems like a good solution due to weight of dighy. I do not know the price difference, nor can I remeber the name of the company.

I'VE KEPT MY SITUATION SIMPLE...

by hanging my inflatable on its side on the second step up from the water line. I have four lines that snap onto each corner of the inflatable, then snap into the very last toe rail hole using aluminum carabiners purchased from Home Depot. I did it the same way on my H28. Makes for easy launching and loading with a boat hook. Plus it's out of the water. Terry
