Datamarine instruments poltergeist

Spring commissioning on my Pearson 39. I fired up my engine, bent on my sails and turned on my instruments (original 1987 datamarine Cornthian wind,speed,and depth)-nothing. No numbers on the LCD, nothing. I checked the power with a tester-good on the positive terminals. The three individual ground wires appeared intact. How could all three go out at once? Are they possessed? Any ideas would help.

Is there a control panel\log? (pic) Maybe the main switch got flipped.

That would be my 1st guess on these instruments if they all went off at once.

Or, if the voltage is good at the instruments as you say, then I'd go right to the ground, especially if it's common.

BTW you might be getting the voltage but not the current, so it still could be power. Switch the batts, test the wires, turn the batt charger on, etc.

Check if there is any display at all on any of the instruments, like a single bar of a numeral, or some kind of distortion, etc. If there is, it's almost definitely a low voltage\current problem.

Thanks Skipper. Simple solution. Control panel for "instruments" was turned on and the instruments were powered up but I did not know the "log" had to be on also. Now they give a proper reading.
