Dana Point Marina Info & Help

I am taking a little trip up the coast with my wife in a few weeks and will be spending 2 nites in the marina at Dana Pt. Can you give me some nice ideas for things to do, places to visit, fun good food for dinner in the area?

Fun in Dana Point

Bob, There are several good restaurants mixed with shopping within walking distance of the guest slips. They also have sport fishing, a sandy beach and other activities available. How far North will you be travelling? Hope you have a great trip.

All of a sudden I feel like Elmer Dills,

One of our favorites for really good Chinese food is Peking Dragon on 34171 Pacific Coast Hwy, Dana Point. Walking distance from the harbor.
For alot more money there is the Cannon and Chart House. For even more money there is the Ritz Carlton really nice view. For even a better view, botanical gardens, 7 miles and even more money is the Montage. When we do the Montage we park in the shopping center lot across the street pick up some great burritos to go and hoof it over to the cliffs at the Montage. Here is a picture.

The historic watering hole is Turk's over by

the cattle boat dock with a view of the gas dock and bait barge. It's a meat market on weekends but weekdays there's a dinner special that's at least 3500 calories. Cheap drinks and full of character and characters, don't overlook the stuffed fish and fish tanks on the ceiling.
BTW J I walked over to look at your boat recently, when you said it was green I thought I knew which boat it was and was happy to see I was correct. I think I remember it being docked over on the east side.

CalifTed, actually I had another boat, same color and name in the east basin several years ago, this one has only been here. There is another green boat near me now, but it is a Newport and mine is a C27. Good advice on Turk's, too. The Brig has huge portions as well.
