Dampness in hanging locker

Our boat is new to us. All is well, except we are getting some (minor) water drips in the port aft cabin hanging locker. The hull side of the locker is sealed with vinyl/foam so we cannot see the source of the drip. Or is it condensation?

Has anyone had this problem?

Ours is dry. We never hang wet stuff in there; we mounted hooks by the steps to help keep it dry and mold/mildew free. In the locker; there is however a fair about of hardware bolted to the deck above it; you might want to start looking at that.

Yes, we have only put dry items inn there. The previous owner had some snaps for a winter tarp and we figured those might be the culprit, but we re-sealed those, but still it's damp. You're right about the hardware - better check it all…..

I had dampness in my hanging locker and found that the screws holding the deck scupper cover plate were leaking. I removed the plate, epoxied the screw holes and eliminated 4 holes in the deck. Done.

Yeah. A 411 likely has a different set-up but it all points to something needing sealing - thanks
