Well it took a while to get everything resolved, but thanks to the great efforts of the folks at La Vida Starships in Lewisville TX (local Hunter Dealer), the damaged boat saga has a nice ending for us. Hunter Marine will build us another 450, and the damaged boat was shipped back to factory for repair. Other than missing out on the remaining nice weather we have had the past few weeks, we will be ready to enjoy next season. As a matter of record for all to know; once a boat leaves the factory, it is owned by the dealer who ordered it until the buyer closes. So La Vida and Hunter worked out the details and I'm satisfied with the results. Thanks for all the great information everyone provided, and will keep you posted on the delivery. Joel Song of Texas

Great news.

For all the bashing Hunter takes here at times, it's nice to be reassured they (and their dealers) take care of their customers. Now, can you work me a deal on a new 460?

Damaged Hullo Number

Just wondering, what was the hull number of the damaged boat? Might be something to look out for...

Really Good News!

After reading everything you went through on this ordeal this seems like some good news. While you will miss out on the fall sailing season maybe this will give more time to think about commissioning. I'm sure you'll be following the postings about fix-its on sister ships on the web. Also, one thing I'd recommend is to put anti-oxidation coatings on appropriate parts such as where stainless screws go into aluminum or certain electrical connections. If you haven't started already, maybe put together a commissioning check list of things to do or look for so when the next new boat shows up you can really hit the ground running. Missing this fall sailing is not good but this could be a blessing in disguise.

Don't think there would be much to worry about..i

when this boat gets delivered to a dealer. I would bet that this one is going to be better than most when it get re-delivered. Don't you think that there are always a few boats that have a problem with some type of structural items that get repaired before they ever leave the factory? It's just like an automobile. Many of them get banged, dented and scratched before the original owners take possession of them. I do not think posting the Hull ID of this vessel is a prudent thing to do in all fairness for Joel and for Hunter.
