Yes it can be. First you must evaluate the damaged area to see if the laminations have been damaged. If they have a gel coat repair is not going to hold up. If it is only the gel coat, you can make a negative mould of the nonskid by spraying a portion of your good non skid with PVA mold release. Then mix some Polyester or epoxy resin and laminated some fiber glass cloth over the good non skid. let the resin cure over night or for a day or so. Pop it off( that is why the mold release was sprayed on). This will be your non skid pattern. Verify that it is a good pattern by overlaying it on the damaged area. If so, clean the damaged gel coat by scraping it if it is a hair line crack or grinding it out if it is a nasty looking spider. Wipe with acetone, Mix your color with the gelcoat resin, matching your gelcoat. Put it right on the old gel coat to match the color ( before you add the catylist)When you are satisfied with the color match , wipe the test samples off with acetone, catylize the color match resin and it apply it to the damaged area. PVA your non skid pattern line it up and set it on the repair. Give it a day or so and pop it off. You may have some minor sanding. If the structure was bad the laminations need to be repaired before this operation. Hope it helps. r.w.landau
