Everybody keeps talking about D&R marine, but I could not get in touch with him. I know somebody is there because a couple of times the phone was busy. I even tried emailing them but I did not get a response. I would order online, but I am not sure my order would get processed. I was even going to make a trip up to MA, but I would be afraid of wasting a trip. Anyone have this problem before? Rob

What alot of people don't realize...
...is the fact that Rudy is a one-man-show. Sometimes it is difficult to get a hold of him. Leave a message on his answering machine and he will definately get back to you. If you order on line your order will definately be filled. Actually, it IS worth a trip up just to pick through his barn. I go there quite often and find something new all the time. Cheers, Bob

This isn't a corporaton, he's a personality and one well worth cultivating. Everything I've asked for, I've gotten, along with advice-no charge and always pertinent. Don't give up. I have recently ordered several parts online from Rudy. I tried several times to contact him to confirm the order but have not been able to contact him on the phone or email. I understand (due to these recent posts) that he works alone but it would be worthwhile for him to explain that on the site. Might prevent some irritation for those waiting on parts. The first time I spoke with Rudy on the phone, he was somewhat hurried and less helpful than I would have liked. He did explain that he was in the process of getting out the next day's shipments, but I still was a little put out. However, he called me back and I must agree with the other posts: the man knows Oday's and is very helpful. I ordered new standing rigging from him and he already knew the lengths; he even rushed the job for me and got it to my house within two days at no additional charge! From some of the posts here it sounds like he's busier than ever and less able to respond to the phone or an email, but it is stil worth your patience. Keep calling and you won't regret it.

Closed for "VACATION"
I placed an order with them a a few weeks ago, and was told that they were going to be closed while they were on a much needed "Vacation". Rudy is back from vacation.
I didn't even know that he had gone on vacation, but after the brief visit that I made on July 2, I'll say that Rudy and his Wife needed a break! He was trying to do about 10 things at once that day. I was back for a visit this past Saturday, August 9, and he was going strong but much more relaxed. I think he may be starting to consider having a few friends come in to give him a hand once in a while, that will help to get orders out sooner. As many have said, if at first you don't succeed, keep trying!

I have been purchasing items from him since 1991. I have always been satisfied. As others have mentioned, he is a one man show with his family as the "hired" help. If you know what you want, he's worth the trip, and if you don't know what you want, you might find it in his barn anyway. I would suggest to anyone who wants to visit, that you confim that Rudy is in, before making the trip. Good Luck.
