I noticed a tag on the cushion material. It reads "Flame Retardant Material"

Also, safety was obviously a real concern in this installation. There is a fire extinguisher strategically placed just outboard of the shield of the heater!

Of course maybe the whole installation is non-functioning and for ambience only.

Looks like it is portable and hangs on the bulkhead.

How about this one? :)

A home made fireplace/heater aboard Mini, a 20' twin-keeled Vivacity which sailed from San Diego to Hawaii in 1992. You can see his home page at; http://minibluewatersailing.com/home

We met cruising the San Francisco Bay delta area. A GREAT guy!

Hmmm- wonder if my Meridian 25 qualifies as a "Pocket Yacht"? She ain't very big for sure, except in ability.

Nice site- thanks Greg

Every time I see something like that, I realize why the rest of us have to pay so much for insurance.

oh its all right there, the extinguisher behind the heat shield, the fire alarm behind the flue pipe. ofcourse the cushions are flame retarded, how else would you sit there when the unit is pulled out for the summer, see the hinged lid? that wood housing must double as a bread box in the summer.

I dunno - with the temps as they are all month those installations are looking kind of cozy...

EEEGADDH!! Don't think Boat US would cover that one. Funny place to put the fire extinguisher. It would be a little hard to get to once the whole thing ignited.
