I'm considering creating an anchor locker in the front of my V-berth. At the bow of my 222 I have a small storage area which I'm planning to turn in to this anchor Line storage area. To gain access I plan on using a 4" screw-in deck plate. Being this close to the fore stay chain plate and the bow rails my question is am I compromising the strenth of this area? I do plan to back up the access plate with an aluminum ring on the inside and screws and nuts to sandwich the two components and all the 5200 I need.
