I have a beneteau 1990 41S5. I want to cut 4 inches off the bottom. Is there metal in there? Anyone know? Rudder post seems to be thick all fiberglass. Comments.

Do you have access to a stud finder, (The kind that works by detecting the drywall nails). They're basically just a magnet attached to an indicater of some sort, so they aren't very expensive. Worth a try.
