Custom Mounting my VHF Radio in a Bulkhead w/VIDEO

I have been needing to install my VHF radio into my Montgomery 17 for quite some time now. I recently bought a new computer that allows me to easily upload videos online so I have a new "motivation" to complete some boat projects to get my little friend ready for the Florida Keys in a few months.

I knew I wanted to install this thing in a bulkhead to kinda get it out of the way and I have seen photos where others have done this so I gave it a shot. I may not have done it the easiest way, but I didn't do it the hardest way either. So take a peak at my video and if you are in a simular situation then hopefully you will find some inspiration in my video.

I hope I didn't post this in the wrong section, but I couldn't seem to find one where this type of thing fits perfectly. I figured this was the closest though.....

The radios come from the manufacturer with a template and hardware to mout flush. The box you built shows good workmanship and looks good. You may still need a handheld for the cockpit.

You know Benny, I kind of assumed that when I bought it. I looked on WM.com where I got it from and I couldn't tell a difference or which ones came with the hardware for that and which ones didn't. So I just bought one hoping to get lucky.

Unfortunately I didn't get lucky and mine had no hardware or instructions on how to do it that way. So instead of packaging it back up and going through all the hassel of sending it back and decided to make the best of my situation.

In the end it worked out pretty well and I'm happy with it. I'm not complaining.

A great solution. I've seen much worse and not seen much better. Has that craftsman effect that looks salty on a boat.
For the record, WM never has a clew on thier products. If you go to the manufacturers site you stand a much better chance of getting stuff like the template or instructions/set up quick start cards etc.
