Some time ago we were discussing customized cabinetry, and I realized I had photos posted at my clubphoto site, link attached. What this shows is the work in the V berth done by the original owner. He added a larger cabinet, relocated the thru-hulls and added a hanging bunk.It looks very good, but I confess the extra bunk has a drawback: it is very tight for an adult, and eats up some of the V-berth space which would make that roomier.Still, if you have children aboard, it's an idea you might want to copy, or improve upon.My wife and I have debated pulling the added bunk out and restoring the V berth to original size, particularly if we end up living aboard in the future.Other plans include installing a teak ventilated door forward to allow access to what will become the chain locker, and/or open up more storage space. I also will eventually replace the bladder holding tank with a solid tank under the bunk. But I really hate to cut into such nicely varnished teak!So much to do, and so little time.Sanders LaMonts/v Good News(still in Florida)
