I remember reading in the past about greatly improving cushions and v-berths comfort in an inexpensive way by topping the existing foam with a 1" very high density (ILD140) "green" foam.
Does anyone know where to find this product ?

New foam for the seating areas should help if the existing foam is shot or not of good quality. The green foam is generally the high density which should help. Sleeping cushions can be greatly improved by adding a memory foam topper.

Check with some local canvas shops or check out the foam factory online. They can custom cut your foam for you and you just install it yourself. Prices are reasonable but I have no direct experience with them.

We've bought cockpit cushions (dry fast) for both boats and also v-berth cushions or the two boats and the same cushion material (lux high quality) for our bed at home from the foam factory. Also the interior cushions for the Mac and will do the same for the Endeavour. Great prices, free and fast shipping and a wide selection.

For the V-berth and interior cushions we went with 3 inch thick high density and the best they had. We like a firm bed and the 3 inches helps with headroom. Foam is easy to cut with a cheap electric knife so we now order from their wholesale site....

.... in 3 inches and the queen size for $122.00. It might be firmer than some like, but they also have less firm foam.

It has held up well and have been sleeping on it at home for about 2 years now. We like that the bed is the same at home and on the boat,

We topped our main berth with a memory foam pad from Wal-Mart. They come in either 1" or 3" thickness. Was a great improvement for sleeping. Can't help on the cushion question.

They DO make foam for flotation, but it's NOT nice to sleep on!
