Cushion retainer?

We made all new cabin cushions for our boat when we got her and every since have chased them all over the cabin as they slide from side to side as we sail. I noticed in our friends 212 there are Velcro disc about 2" in diameter that had a small screw in the center of them holding them down to the boat with a mating Velcro disc on the underside of the cushion that held the cushion in place. Does anyone know where to get those or something like them? I checked with Sailrite and they either don't have them or I was unable to find them.

Thanks
Sam

Why not just buy some Velcro material at a big box and make them? I would glue the piece that goes to the boat with something like Goop rather than screwing, although our 23 came with the Velcro attachments and they are screwed down. I believe they are sewed to the cushion, but you can probably get some kind of fabric cement.

Velcro with self adhesive backing is readily available at most any fabric store.

this is by far the best method if you want to use velcro.... the only real technical aspect to applying the stick on velcro to the boat, is to make sure the surface is double clean and degreased with acetone or alcohol.... or the adhesive will come loose in a few months.... "velcro" brand adhesive applied to a clean gelcoat surface is for life..... round the corners with scissors a bit before sticking it on, because its ALWAYS the corners that start to peel loose, and if there are no corners, it wont start to peel....

I like to add a nice wood coaming to the edge of the settees to hold the cushions in place... it looks great, is functional, and can make the seating more comfortable on most settees if it is the correct height...

Why do they slide off the settees? --unless the fiddles meant to retain the cushions are far too low. I made mine like 2-3" high for this reason. This is a traditional aesthetic and works well in real life.

On my Catalina 28, the cushions are held in place with squares of Velcro. No screws in the Velcro, so I assume it's just the self adhesive Velcro. Works fine, but not ideal.

Anytime you want to access the storage areas under the settees, you have to reach under the cushions and separate the Velcro before you can get into the hatch panels under the cushions. If the cushions were held in place with fiddles, it'd be easier. However, on the Cat 28 the cushions extend over the edge, so there's no simple way to have fiddles.
