This is not an earth-shattering new topic, but I have not figured out what cushions to use when I convert the dinette table to a berth. I checked out the C30 site, and nothing is shown in the drawings and/or parts lists. This is probably an easy one to answer, but not to this new owner. Thanks, Tom

try this....

If you have the drop down from the forward bulkhead table... On the forward side of your nav table you should have a small cushion (#1) app. 12"h x 18"w (Part K 40 22 25 390)snapped onto the side wall of the nav station, on the aft side of your nav table, snapped on the hull wall, you should have a larger cushion (#2) 18"w x 48"l (Part K40 22 31 390) and finally on the side wall of the aft cabin (under the cockpit area) you have have a last cushion (#3) app 10"w x 60" l. (Part K40 22 33 390) They are all the same thickness. Once your table is down the narrow (#3) long one can go on the table lenght wise on the Starboard side of the table, than in the hole left in the middle you combine both cushions found near your nav table (#1 and #2). Voila. Hope you find all of your cushion and this works out. Don't you love a good puzzle! G

Catawba Island..

Tom, Just noticed your port of call. We purchased our C30 from Catawba Moorings in your area, in 2003. We found this area impressively nice with good services for boaters/sailors... Hope to return one day. G

Cushions for dinette

We have a 1988 Catalina 30 w/ the dinette configuration. When converting the table to the salon berth, we use the two vertical cushions from the Starboard side of the quarter berth area. Those two cushions un-snap and provide the proper sized "fill-in" for the dinette table when it's lowered to become a berth. Gary Kunkel Catalina 30 "Folie a Deux" Channel Islands Harbor, CA

Dinette conversion

On my 1978 model with the square dinette table, the filler cushions are fastened with snaps to the bulkhead in the quarter berth area. Perhaps you have the same configuration. If so, exercise care when removing them since the snaps may have developed corrosion. Use a knife blade to ease the snaps loose so as not to rip the material. Clean the snaps with WD-40 and give them a light spray of waterproof lithium grease.
