Cushion foam sources

I have been making boat and RV cushions for the past couple of years and part of the process is finding sources for the various foam types. Here are a few I am using:
Sailrite -Their 1 1/2" flotation foam is comfortable to sit on and is Coast Guard approved for a flotation device. The 1/2" foam can be used under a 1.8 density dryfast foam if you drill holes in it so the water can drain. The 1.8 density dryfast has a tendency to bottom out and using the flotation foam really helps in the comfort area.
Bestway Foam - They sell a very firm dryfast foam that doesn't bottom out.
Demp Distributing in Denver- They also sell retail. It is worth a trip to see their operation where they take huge buns of foam and cut to whatever size you might want. Very friendly mom and pop staff.
The Foam Factory online They have some of the best prices available on a wide range of foams and free shipping on orders over $75.

Thanks for the heads-up on the denser dry fast. We use the dry fast on all the cockpit cushions and love it but over time it gets compressed. I think I'll try the denser foam from the place you posted.

We bought a lot of foam from them....

But now I buy my foam from their sister business ....

A $100 minimum for free shipping and you have to buy foam in larger pieces but the larger pieces are quite a bit cheaper. You also have to cut it to size, but an under $20 electric knife makes that a piece of cake.

Either place gives great service and as you said you have a wide range of foam to select from. Our cushion projects are found here ....

Good info, plus, usually there is a business like an Army/Navy store locally. Buy upholstery quality foam and another source is a carpet business. The 1/2" carpet sponge can be used for many projects and has great density. Add it under your bunk mattress if you are bottoming out. Chief

I'm feeling lucky today. This thread came along just as we are beginning the job of replacing all of the cushions on our S2 26 Mid (8.0 C) which has about the same cushion area as a 35'. Thanks all. :)
