CS30 Bow Stem

Hi All:

Just joined today and love this forum. I just got a CS30 and the survey pointed out that the Bow Stem has a crack in the forestay hole. Does any one happen to know if you can repair this or does it have to be replaced.

One other thing, is there any CS30 people here that has a second hand one they would be interested in selling or know of a place I could pick one up.

I try Holland Marine in Mississauga for CS specific questions.. Sometimes they have good suggestions..

I have seen a welded (not casted) one in National YC. Also I've seen one with two SS plates on both sides of the stem with nuts and bolts in front and behind the hole.

The Cast SS stem is a common weak point on CS boats. Cast is not as strong as rolled SS plates.
