Crusing World

I read the June review of the Vega and what caught my eye was the
fact that the main sail had three reef points, which suggested a Vega
that is prepared for heavy weather...Upon further inspection I think
that it is Gene Suess at the helm and it is a picture of Lorna Doone
taken last year at the Rendezvous (the one Diana and I missed)...Well
Gene, is that you and LD?

Cheers

Your quite right Brian, that is me, not Tony at the helm of Lorna
Doone. I volunteered to take a couple of spins around the bay for this
photo opportunity for the article that Barbara Merratt wanted to do on
the Vega. I even watched Cruising World publications for the next six
months for the article. If someone hadn't mentioned the story last week
on this site, I would have missed it.

Have a nice day,

Hello, all,
I have scanned the Cruising World article about the Vega and uploaded it
to the Files section of the Yahoo Groups AlbinVega site. The file is
titled VegaArticle.jpg. It's one magazine page--but a 288 kb file, since
it had to be in high enough resolution to read or print well.

By the way, I had to put this in the Files area rather than the Photos
area because our Photos area is almost full--about 99%. PLEASE anyone
who has put a lot of photos on this site reconsider whether all yours
are needed and remove some before I have to choose some myself (as "list
owner") to delete--we soon will not be able to post any additional ones.
Thanks,
Tom L

Tom.
Many thanks for scanning the Vega article, I can't get Cruising World in Australia and I was trying to figure out how I could get a copy, you saved me the headache. It is a good article, just reinforces what a great boat we sail.
All the best

Hi, All:

Nobody likes to appear dumb, but I must admit to not being a computer guru.
Would someone please tell me, in "non-guru" talk, how to view the Vega Files
you speak of that allow one to view these things.

Thanks, Ed Davis

Hi Ed, It's nice to know that I'n not the only one in the group who is
lacking in computer skills. Judy got me a copy of Windows for the complete
idiot. I had her take it back. I need the one for imbeciles. Walt

No, you got the right one. Although not used anymore, the three classes of mental defectives in descending order were moron, imbecile, idiot. No longer PC or sufficiently descriptive. As I recall, an idiot was deemed capable of polishing flat surfaces.
