I have just completed making a crusing spinnaker and now I need to know how to rig it. I understand the attachment to the bow but I am not sure where to locate the blocks for the sheet lines? Has anyone done this on a 28? Appreciate any help or informational books titles. This is NOT a racing spinaker so there is no pole required. There are lots of books covering racing types but I haven't seen any for the cruser.

sheets for cruising spinnaker

Can't you just use the turning blocks located on each strbrd and port stern quarter and sheet them to your winches respectively?

Just thinking

I have not found any written information yet but just thinking about it has brought up some interesting points. First, the foot on this sail, approx 500sqft. is very long, about 20 feet. Therefore, the additional blocks should be set as far aft as possible. I say additional blocks because using the sheet blocks for the Jib,as Kevin suggested would not work. In addition to this, if your racing you would not want to be changing sheet lines while rounding the mark! I will use a couple of Stainless Pad Eyes bolted to mount the blocks. If anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate your comments. Charlie
