Any experience with drilling and filling with epoxy in the specific area that the shrouds pass through the deck ? I have worked on this area and found a metal plate running below the fiberglass. Because of the plate I was not able to come up with the same quieting results after drilling and filling with epoxy. Thanks, 1983 H-30...

Planning a different approach.

I know I have some leaking around the chainplates. This fall I will have the mast and rigging down for the first time since I have owned my H37C. Because of similar "softness" in the area I plan to cut a large section of deck glass out around the chainplates. Then I will glass in new core before properly sealing the chainplates. I think I will use marine plywood instead of the end-grain balsa.

Thanks Ed

Thanks for the advice. I had the same inquire on the Ask A H Owner forum and received similar advice. As said on that forum - this last weekend on a deck inspection I did't any longer hear a sound. Epoxy worked! By the way - We will have to meet sometime. Wife and I bought our H30 in Huron and docked there a few months six years ago. Thanks, Rick.....
