Love those Bahamian hair do's:)

Once again your experiences in the Bahamas help us escape the daily grind for a few minuets. Cool additions to EP. With all the elec goodies you may need to drag an extension cord back to the mainland pretty soon:) “Easily stored”?? How in the world you always find more storage is a mystery to me. Trick pop-up lift too. Hope all is well. Thanks for sharing......now what happens next???!! ~~_/)~~ Michael and Kelli

solar/wind power mounting

Brian & Steph, I am curious as to what triple axis mount you found to work with your solar unit. I have a 55w that I strap to the top of my bimini but i have to take it down when I tighten sail in heavy wind as the boom would drag across it. Been wanting to move it back to the aft where the mast support pole sits, but have been unable to find the right mount to work. can ya forward anything on to me. thanks dsmsoccerdad@mchsi.com

Borrowed?

The story ended with the sad loss of your dingy. Could it be that it was "borrowed" by someone in the middle of the night? After all, this is the Bahamas.

That's a pretty unfair statement

"Could it be that it was "borrowed" by someone in the middle of the night? After all, this is the Bahamas." Ouch! After years of traveling throughout The Bahamas (on both business and pleasure) I have met and befriended many Bahamians in all walks of life. They have all been extremely gracious and welcoming to visitors. On most of the smaller islands and cays, people still leave their homes and cars unlocked. I doubt very much that a local would "borrow" your dinghy. Peter H23 "Raven"

Bill, you should .................

...........spend more time reading and less time admiring the "well developed scenery" of "Double Breasted Cay" (can't say I blame you...lol) The painter chafed on the toe rail. So Brian....did you get her back? We are all dying to read the conclusion. Tahoe Tim "What I didn't realize was that as I was going to sleep, the tide was changing and began to flow counter to the wind... this was bad news for the dink as it swung around to the starboard side of E.P. and bounced against the hull. The leash-line, tied to the rear starboard cleat, reached forward toward P.L. and hopped up onto the aluminum toe-rail... and there it began to chafe... all as I lay sleeping less that 2 feet away..."

Thank You

Thank you for posting your journal online. I am currently in Baghdad, Iraq as a US Contractor, but two years ago I upgraded to a US25 with the intention of sailing to the Bahamas. Despite being so far away, your story has motivated me to pursue this dream stronger now than ever. I no longer think about it singlehanded either, this is something Trista and I definitely need to experience as a couple. Besides, she tends to shed clothing away from shore as well. I plan on following your route in 2008, the photos and destinations are amazing. Thanks again for the journal and inspiration. Fair winds, Rich B. Wind Spirit currently in FOB Rustamiyah near Baghdad, Iraq
