my day is made

I can go sailing today. Love reading the posts. There is so muchthere, with so many questions. Like what kind of sewing machine did she use, and thread size (which would quiet a few posts on other sites.) Hope you had or are having a ball!!!!!

Great shots. Most people think they can take pictures, but yours are very good.

Someday it'll be our turn

As always a great posting. We unfortunately will wait for retirement to make that kind of trip. For now we still enjoy the LI Sound and the Northest. Thanks for sharing and we look forward to the next chapter. Bob Keller sv Kathryn 2, Stamford, Ct

Uh-ohhhh.... Another Beach Comber!

I've got one of those two-legged beach comber collector freaks too. When we go so somewhere different and go ashore, we invariably come home with a bunch of shells, driftwood, rocks, etc. Then the "things" can be found around the house or on the porch or patio. Sunsets: I don't know what it is about sunsets, but here there is an area which has the best and it's centered right around Montague Harbor in the Gulf Islands. Go a little bit each way and they're still awsome but much further and they become more also-rans by comparison. Sorta like a sunset hot-spot. Not Going Home: When you get to this point you know you've arrived, so to speak, in nervana. Unfortunately, reality eventually sets in and it's back to the real world of consumer-ism and getting ahead or saving for retirement. If it would be just so simple as living day-to-day then maybe life would be much easier. Maybe in the future one could get a computer scan of the body and it could tell you when your time is up with a reasonable degree of accuracy and you could plan your life up to that moment (barring some unforseen accident, say). Like everybody has said - you have another great story here. So have you given any thoughts where your next cruise will be to?

So! WHY did you come back? ;)

Pockets completely empty? If the locals can't make a living I can't imagine that a couple of vagabonds could find a way to earn passage. That must have been a grand adventure. I am truly glad for you both.

Here I sit ...

... with my boat still on the hard and haven't sailed this year, sitting in an office doing a new job so I have no vacation, and with my mom in the hospital soon to go into a nursing home taking all my spare time. Thanks for the pix ... reminds me of what's still possible. Maybe next year. Tom Monroe Carlyle Lake
