How to bend a cruising chute
Mike,I have a cruising chute for my '28. No additional gear is needed. Although I have a pole, I loaned it to a friend and have never used it. I had to add a short line to my tack block to raise the sail high enough to clear the bow pulpit. Any stout rope will do. I use a second halyard. Re setting the sheets, my track is so long that I have no trouble setting my sheets. I use my regular jib sheets. Get one and use it. They're a hoot! Your friends will think you are really cool when you bend one. I am not a sail specialist, so I would contact a sail loft re what size. I think that the "I" is your number to use, ie the length of the luff on your other jibs. If you don't know that, email me at kingsburywebill@hotmail.com. I have an original glossy brochure on your model in my file that will provide the "I". Actually, any sail loft will have your "I" and can make recommendations. There is a loft on this site.
