Has any H33 owner bought one of the cruising shutes advertised in the Hunter Chandlers? I am thinking of fitting one to my 2004 #208 and want some quantitative data re performance and ease of handling (with the sock) I can get hull speed downwind at around 15knots true so want to know about performance below this and at what angles you can work? Is it worth it?

thanks for the advice

Thanks Roan. I do a bit of social racing which was why I know at what wind speed I don't need a shute! My question really relates to at what wind speed do you really see boat speed gain with the shute. If I read you correctly it is below 10 knots. What sort of improvement over main and headsail do you get?

I have an A sail from Sailnet.

I bought an a sail from sailnet on line. I have the sock and the ATN tack. Visit ATNINC.com and see the video. The sail puts about 1 and 1/2 kts on the boat downwind. The sock is very easy to use, with experience one person can snuff the chute. Be advised that chutes come in two weights, 3/4 and 1 1/2 oz. I use the 3/4 here in Florida.
