Things that have worked really, really well: new Yanmar 3YM30, old Simrad WP30 has steered all the way in all conditions, old Origo stove cooks as well as at home and if it is slower then I can’t tell, crew members Don and Gary are great, Cricket head will flush anything and has for ten years, A/B refer is efficient and keeps everything cold, ten year old Mermaid reverse cycle has kept us warm when tied up(we thought we would need it to cool, not heat):, Garmin 172C is worth more than its weight in gold, and don’t forget the boat. Ladylove is stable, safe, fun, and relatively fast.
Undecided about: davits versus towing; battery charging options when you already motor so much(we have a Honda 2000).
Wish I had: a good boom brake, too many crashes when going downwind in big swells; better cockpit protection when offshore in 30 degrees; the ability to sleep when offshore( I spent three nights in the cockpit ); better tethers for the harness, mine might be dangerous not having a quick release; a dinghy motor that runs, we tore it down while sailing, still will not start(2hp Honda, 4-cycle, air-cooled): a new Passage 42 J .
