Cruising next week

It is almost time. We should be leaving Matthews Point, NC next Thursday or Friday. My crew will pick me up at the Raleigh airport on Tuesday and then lots of boat work before departure. The plan is offshore straight to St. Augustine.

I have been fortunate to find a slip here in Port Richey(picture). So all is ready when we finally get around. I have a Verizon air card for this laptop so should be able to stay in touch. A special thanks to all who helped with my planning here on SBO.

1. Other than the plane ride, avoid schedules like the plague

2. Don't enter unfamiliar inlets at night

3. Don't overuse your air card - big time charges, don't ask how I know!

4. Don't get hooked on electronics - enjoy the sailing!

5. Batteries and/or charger for batteries for your camera

5. Enjoy, and write when you get there, you know how us parents are!
