I'm off Sunday on my 20 day cruise. Although I now carry a WiFi capable laptop and actually checked my email and posted here on my May cruise, you probably won't hear from me or see any pictures until I return. I like the feeling of being places where I'm pretty sure no WiFi waves are going through the air so I can take my tinfoil hat off.
One of the reasons I got the SPOT beacon was so that family could be reassured of my continued flotation without having to break the feeling of truly being away with constant cell phone calls. The link to the tracking page is on my web site page about this cruise so anyone who wants to vicariously experience a bit of Maine cruising can follow me from there.

BTW I just installed a 5 gallon tank with a small electric pump and pushbutton hooked up to the old footpump spigot that I seldom used. This is for drinking water. I've frozen one of those 5 gallon flexible camping jugs for a big chunk of icebox ice. It will replenish the potable water tank when thawed and then be used to carry water from cleaner sources than the usual marina hose. My big main tank is probably safe to drink after the cleaning I gave it this spring but why take a chance? The stuff from the small plastic tank also tastes better.
