Spent 2wks zooming around Florida in our quest to trailer sail little known or lightly used sailing sites. It turned out to be a great trip that fits a smaller boat very well. Check it out. Part 1 and 2 links below. Hope you enjoy. http://www.sailboatowners.com/upload/display.tpl?folder=73298228609&fno=17 http://www.sailboatowners.com/upload/display.tpl?folder=73298231460&fno=17 Michael and Kelli 2004 H260 s/v "Plan B"

We have traveled the ST Johns

in our 260, and I agree the Silver Glen is one of our favorates. We launch at NASJAX and have sailed down (South) or up river till we couldn't go any further about 270 miles from NASJAX. took us 2.5 weeks had a great time, normally we do this during the Thanksgiving week or two. I have central AC/Heating on board and have change to a two burner acohol stove top instead of the standard one burner. Our new boat is also on the ST Johns, a Corbin 39, but we still plan on taking our 260 on the Great American Loop a 6,700 mile trip around the eastern half of the US starting in April and figure it will take us about 1 years. I plan on having a travel log on this site if there is any interest in our travel. After the Great Loop we are taking the Corbin around the world and plan on it taking about 12 years. Isn't life grand. John USNret

Yet another great story

Congratulations to you both. Mmm Thinking Brian, Steph and you guys. Phew! Do wish we had waters to sail on like that in Western Australia.

awwww... c'mon', man!

...seriously now, are there not cruising grounds in Australia like these? I've always thought that it was better there than here. It surprises me to "hear you" say that... *o By the way... good to "see" you again, Mark! :)

Thank you!

Thanks Michael & Kelli, We love these stories, especially as winter approaches. It's in the 30's up here in Ohio, and our boat's been in hibernation for a couple of weeks - until next March. Stories and pictures like yours and Brian & Steph's keep our fires burning. Hey, and show more pictures of how you've outfitted the boat. We always need ideas for winter projects - or excuses to spend even more time on the boat, as my kids call them! Mike s/v "Making Memories" 1998 H260 Perrysburg, OH

Yep sailing is almost in full swing

Mmmm What I need to do is get my mind around posting photos and stories. At the moment almost the whole of Australia is suffering the worst drought in history. No kidding there are a whole bunch of rural areas with hardly enough water to keep their gardens going let alone provide for drinking water. It truly is a disaster. What were lakes up until a few years ago are simply dust bowls. We are all hoping that rain will soon come. On the coast of course we have plenty of water to sail on :) Will make a big effort this year to post a few photos.

Don't believe I saw a 260 at Strictly Sail??

CJ, The 260 was discontiued in 2004/05. Maybe it was the 25 you saw(we did see it on shore)? Sorry we didn't see you, although we did see about 5000 other people. I'd have to attach a face to "conchy Joe" to pick out such a cool tag name. We did finally meet Brian but missed Steph. He's got some hot products engineered from that savvy electron manipulators mind. Anything to get a tax write off for a sailing R&D lab, way to go guys. The Latts & Atts bash was cool but we faded pretty quick after a full day and a couple brews. Gotta say after all the new product we saw, we still like the later 260's for their portability and interior detail. Seems that only the mega yachts had any amount of interior design imagination. Otherwise the small boat market interiors seemed pretty sparse and lacking any depth. I guess that leaves room for forum posts by innovative interior tweakers, and used boat rennovators eh:) Glad you enjoyed the trip, Brian planted an idea for another trip that Kelli and I might do so stay tuned. Mark, sorry about the drought but the oceans' still good so show us your sailing ground. I'm way curious to see the W Aus coast. I'm guessin' it's not fresh wtr springs, endless trees and mosquitoes but it can't just be Banded sea snakes, Walabees and salwtr crocs? Post whatcha got we're not gonna be picky. Aloha to all~~~_/)~~~~ Michael and Kelli

Stick a fork in me.

It was a 25. Brain fart. Our booth was right across from Brian's. You and I had talked this summer about your asym spinnaker, which is the same for my 23.5 as your old boat. I never bought it, but will this winter when I pull the boat for maintenance and upgrades. Click the link for a few pictures of all of us. Cheers!
