Three Australian cruisers who vanished off the catamaran Kaz II probably died by drowning or shark attack after an ill-fated man-overboard rescue attempt. The incident likely happened before lunch on the first day of their "trip of a lifetime," ruled State Coroner Michael Barnes.

What can we learn from this tragedy?

. I do not understand why people spend all that money to purchase these wonderfull sailing machines and do not spend any money on training and equipment for such an unfortunate case. Going to ocean without a lifejacket is shear suicide. When I am single handed I always have a harness on and I am tied to the boat and I always wear my life jacket. I have a radio and listen to the weather report. This is lesson for the resto of us.
