Fifth Annual SCA Cruiser ChallengeJuly 19-20Monterey Bay, CASponsored by the Potter Yachters and Small Craft Advisor MagazineThis is the premier west coast trailer-sailor regatta. Last year, more than 40 boats showed up for the regatta. There were skippers of all skill levels and boat of every description -- and everybody had a great weekend! The main event is two easy-going, friendly cruiser-style races on Saturday. One course is specially designed for new sailors. The whole day is designed for non-racers, so don't be afraid to join us, even if you've never raced before. We'll have simplified regatta rules for non-racers; all you need to know is the ordinary "rules of the road" for sailing. . After the races, the party begins. Saturday night we'll have the Award Ceremony and dinner at the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club. We'll be staying overnight at the Monterey Yacht Harbor. On Sunday morning, we'll have brunch at the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club. There'll be plenty of free time for daysailing after brunch on Sunday. You don't have to race to join the party. If you'd rather daysail than race, that's fine -- come and join us! Just check off the appropriate boxes on the registration form for the activities you want to attend.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------For details of the schedule, eligibility rules, and online registration, go to http://www.blumhorst.com/cruiserchallenge2003/index-cc5-2003.htm
