At last weeks skipper's meeting I introduced the idea of circumnavigating Vancouver Island next season. It appears at least three of AMEES flotilla signed up. Lots of planning to do between now and then. Probably head out the middle of June and return by the middle of August. Most go up the inside and back down the outside to catch the most favorable winds.

Van-Isle 360 ?

The Van-Isle circumnavigation is on my "bucket list". I don't have the three weeks needed for the trip until I retire so I will have to wait a couple more years. I hope to make time to go part way around the bottom-end to taste the open ocean.

This will be our fifth two month cruise to PNW waters. Broughton Archipelago, Discovery Islands, Desolation Sound were among the areas covered in prior years. Wanted to reach Ocean Falls last year but weather soured our plans. So much to see and do. Outside has lots of appeal. Lots of bays and harbors to explore.

1. Cornet Bay
2. Turn Island/Park Bay
3. Poet Cove
4. Ganges/Pirates Cove (a day or so)
5. Clam Bay
6. Nanaimo (a few days)
6. Lasqueti (a day or so)
7. Lund
