Not good bending my rudder and having diver clearance it so I could continue and definitely bad getting a big hole in mixing elbow. Limping back to the dock now, exhaust poring out of the cabin.

Oh I forgot the dinghy getting loose with a new motor on it - rocks around. Discovered at midnight - up all night wondering what wife would say. Got it back no problems.

Got back to the dock ok. 1/4 water & 1/2 the exhaust going in the boat - shooting things up for 3 hours. Once I got in the marina all the water was going in the bilge, pumps were running. Tied up and shut thins down. Packed up some food, Rx, Locked it up, my Son came to pick me up & had trailer, so he motored up to launch while I schlept things to the car and then to boat launch. He drove home, shower and G&T & I’m feeling almost human.

And the hole - it’s tight against a bulkhead so no way to see it yesterday.

I bet you find a big hunk of carbon in that elbow that defected the hot exhaust, unquenched at the carbon steel elbow.

Les can have that riser off his engine in as little time as it takes me to screw a light bulb in, and I'm very slow at that!

It took about 20 minutes cause that darn 3” HE was in the way, I could do it much faster with. The 2” HE in there.
