I had the same problem. Constantly moving the unit can be tricky and dangerous. Also, on our 1999 H260 it really does not fit well over the forward hatch. I opted to mount the unit in the companionway hatch. With the hatch open, place the unit on the edge with the cold air exiting toward the stern. This will cool the galley and quarterberth, where it is most needed. I cut pieces of plywood to fill in the open hatch. One piece is U-shaped to fit around the A/C and the other fills the remaining opening. When we are not using the boat, the unit sits on the cabin top lashed to the mast.
