Crowns For Lewmar St Winches

ok just got a couple of lewmar 30 ST winches at a very good price...problem is one of them has broken crowns upper and lower...they are pre 1992 .....have done a search on the net to try and find replacements but not much luck...theses have rebuilt very well and work smoothly ......does anyone know where i might find theses parts new or used in good repair.....this is one of the few times i have not been able to find something i am looking for so far......any and all help is welcome....

obtw according to the parts breakdown 30/40's will work ....

thanks for the help there Joe....unfortunetly the part number you gave me is a good number but for a none ST winch.....i contacted pyacth and they directed me to Lewmar in the states...they told me the parts i am looking for or na ....but suggested i look in the salvage yards as a last resort.....lol...so now i am off to see the wizard...wbtw i love to do any way.....if any one knows of some that are available plz let me know as i will be most greatful.....

Servicing Older Lewmar Winches

Woodster: I contacted Lewmar this past winter at their US Offices. They were fantastically helpful. Can't find their number on their website now. However, they sent me their parts & servicing manuals which were helpful for me in servicing and getting parts for 6 Lewmar winches (all between 1983 and 1992) on our 1983 Bristol 35.5. You tell the actual age of the winch by the type of screws on the top. I can send the manuals to you if I can get an email address. I'll try to upload docs to this post

Sorry Woodster.... I thought I was being pretty bright there... I like to research stuff like that... anyway your winch would be the "wave" series and, as you did, I plugged in part #lew15000372 (that's the upper crown half or "jaws") and it came up ... discontinued. Bummer.. Sorry I couldn't help.... not to be a smart ass, but that's probably why you got the winches so cheaply. Good luck... your not being a smart ass Joe i can assure you of that...and also know that any help or info is always appreciated....the winches were given to me by some one that i did a favor for with no strings attatched...its nice to know nice people....and thinks for the tip on minneys.....
