Crossing Atlantic?

I'm (almost for sure) the only Hunter 27 (old model)owner in Holland and surroundings and therefore I have no experience with tellings of other people about crossings in the North Sea, Mediterenean or Atlantic. I have sailed her across the coastal waters of France, Denmark and the U.K. and I'm considering a cross-over to the United States. Is there anyone who had a long-distance experiance with a Hunter 27 and can (still) tell about it?ThanksOliver

Tom Manalili sails blue water

Tom sails his '82 h27 from Florida to Yucutan and back each year if I remember right. See his review in the h27_75-84 model section for an account of the modifications he made for blue water sailing. You could write to him through the owner directory for more info. That's funny. I am Dutch and am looking into possibilities to ship the 28.5 that I have from NYC to Amsterdam. Yes, I'm thinking about shipping as I'm not tired of life. Because...are you sure, in a 27 footer? I do have respect for you and....good luck or "veel geluk!!!"Jasper
