Crosby cold plate compatibility

I have a mid-80's Crosby freezer/refrigerator R12 system (3 cold plates) using 406a refrigerant. Major surgery is needed as the expansion valves are rusted and the motor bearings noisy. The Frick compressor would probably make noise forever if I let it! I'd like to save the box and plates by replacing the valves and condensing unit with something using current technology and refrigerant but I don't know if there would be a problem with compatibility.

Crosby system

The Crosby line is no longer manufactured. Remember, that what you do replace it with must be compatible. There is residual oil in the lines and plates, which must be compatable with whatever you replace or flushed out.
