On December 19 2008 I ordered a repair kit for my Raritan PH11 head.
At 1330 this afternoon December 22, 2008 I picked up the UPS package at my front door. The SBO Chandlery is a good place to do business.

I had a very similar experience Ross. In fact my shipping looked high and they told me it was just an estimate and guaranteed it would come in lower or they would pay the difference. It actually came back much lower saving me bundles.

I wanted to order some replacement Aqua Signal Series 25 Navigation lights from SBO. But the shipping came in at $16 for two items weighting 1 lb. I decided not to place the order. But if you are saying it is just an estimate, I may reconsider. It still seems steep for such a small item.

Brian, My Raritan order was drop shipped from Raritan in New Jersey and not from SBO at Seattle.

Call them and discuss the shipping. I think their online calculator errs(a lot) on the side of caution. Mine started out at $38 but ended up being less than half that.

SBO Service is Great

I had to call SBO because for some reason my order didn't transmit. Anyway, freight cost came up during the conversation. I was told that they do what they can to keep it low. The final freight cost came in lower than the estimate.

Also, I inquired about another item that I am considering. I asked "what is the difference between your part and a similar one that I can purchase at Defender? If your part is of better quality or has better features l will purchase from SBO. Otherwise I can drive to Defender, save the freight and about $20.00 difference in price." Later in the day I recd an email that told me - no difference... go to Defender.

How many merchants will be that honest???

I've ordered several things from SBO.
Excellent customer service.

In one case there was confusion about my shipping address. Rather than send an email as some vendors would, they called me on the phone.

Everything has arrived quickly.

And the greatest benefit that buying from SBO is that it supports this site that we get to use for free.

They got me some hard to find nav lights for my od25, the shipping came out to $20 something. I paid it and they emailed me back an stated shipping was only $11 something and refunded the difference. Lightning fast shipping. I keep looking for more stuff to buy from them. Patrick

Personally, I don't think that the SBO chandlery is a good place to shop..........It's a great place to shop. I've never had any problems or complaints about anything that I've bought from them

Great is the word. This afternoon my "crew" of three daughters and their husbands with my four grandkids will get their new "Ladylove Crew" shirts. Our store here on SBO bent over backwards to customize ten polo shirts and four T-shirts. I could not be more satisfied. Of course mine says "Ladylove Captain", complete with logo.

Why ten? Two for my delivery crew come January. Don't worry, I haven't told them about SBO.

...ask them anyway. I have purchased several items that were not listed, but their price for special order was competitive or beat the competition. Some not, but I check first. Rick D.
