Ok all you creative girls and guys. I have finished all the necessary upgrades to my C-22. Now its time for some fun!!!! I would love pictures and websites of creative storage and instalations of gear both in the cockpit and the cabin. For example: Mounting depth sounder displays, radios, stereos, cool electrical instalations. Chart storage, Fishing rods, cleaning supplies, things that make living aboard more comfortable. In the cockpit: have you done usful modifications, plexi hatch boards, compas mounts, stereo speakers, stern seats etc. Well you get the picture. I want to do some creative usful things this year so send me your ideas and pictures (I am a visual lerner) Thanks Art <(((><

What year is your boat?
When I've searched around for similar ideas, I keep hearing about the great-big port lazarette where one can store life rafts, oars, life jackets etc. It sounded as though the lazarette on the boat described was accessible from the cockpit, which would be nice for quick access. another forum article on stability warned about keeping the lazarette locked in case you heeled over too far and took on some water. I think this feature was available on pre- 1986. The area under my 1986 port benches is accessible only from behind the setee.... and you have to be lying dowon or crawling inside to access most of it....not too easily and not when in an emergency situation.

CD Owners Manual
THe Catalina Direct Owner's Manual has a very detailed description of how to store stuff for a party of 4 (2A + 2C) on an extended cruise. Sounds like it is for a pre'86 boat, since it refers to shelves and easily accessible storage under the port lazarrette. Which are both missing on my 1986 model.
