I have been on vacation but returned with a sever case of bronchitis. Since I do run a buisness, I cannot answer all the questions and imput from you salty dogs is great. Hope that some imput from me helps you sailors. I did get the chance to sail around Alcatraz. I thought my wife was going to locki me up. Enjoyed the wine country. Hit too many wine tastings but it sure was good. Crazy Dave3

Welcome back!

I'm very pleased you got out on the water - was Don able to help you with that? SF Bay sailing is a hoot, isn't it? Take care of yourself and get back to full strength soon!

Welcome back Dave, we missed you!

Welcome back Dave! And, we all wonder, type of boat did you sail around Alcatraz in??? This is a great website, but without your sage and irreverent input its been a little sad without you. We all tend to take this stuff too seriously--which is where you come in!! You remind me of those crazy two mechanics on National Public Radio on Sat mornings: Smart and knowledgeable but well able to take themselves lightly. Welcome home Bill Welsch s/v Renewal

Hey Dave, were you gone?

Hey Dave: Just kidding. Though your computer was broken or something. S.F.!, did you make it to sail expo or was that before you got there. Pretty wild sailing in SF bay most of the time. One of the vendors at Sail Expo mentioned that ALL of the boats on the bay have reefed mains. Glad you had a good time. Steve Dion

Thank you all.

Thanks to all. I did miss being in touch with you old salty sea dogs. I sailed with reefed main around alcatraz on a Hunter 29.5. I saw a 40 foot sailboat with full main and genoa. Dusted him with the reefed main. My wife, Ann or "Scratchy", enjoyed the sail. I remember our honeymoon in the islands and I thought she was going to make me walk the plank. Phil, thank you for steering me to Don's rental fleet. Club Med was great and very helpful. Nate, call Gregg Emerson at Hunter and he will put you in touch with me. As I have mentioned, I do not reveal myself on this forum out of respect for it. I will tell you the coast line of California and Muir Woods(redwoods) was beautiful. Back to the slave work. Thanks Dave

Thanks for taking so much time to give us your input. (Running your own business is always more time consuming than you ever imagined prior to taking the big plunge. I find that reading your 2 cents worth is always informative. Hope you continue to moniter the small boats section. Your help is appreciated. Joe R H240/Skooky 2
