So I was once told that if the lady down the street owns 4 cats... she might be a crazy cat lady...

4 cats is right on the boarder line..... if you have 5 or more, then you are clearly over the line.....

Well today Crazy Dave helped me put my new-2-me Hunter 26 one a trailer and I took it home and I snapped this pic of my yard....

I may be on the verge of becoming the crazy boat boy....

shhhhh.... lets not mention the canoe and kayak.......

I've got 3 in the back yard, one in the basement of my Grandmother's house, 3 kayaks in my own garage, and a friend's kayak in the basement that I am refreshing for her. I like the legend of native American counting: 1, 2, many. I'm in the many crowd, woot!

Sanded ready for painting, varnish, deck hardware, and a new layer of glass in the cockpit for abrasion resistance:

Three coats of varnish, not done yet:

OK - you're not over the line. Maybe you could sell one or two. 'course we know that only means buying another. But being able to give one up would speak to your mental health and probably give local critics less to work with. Beach toys are exempted.

Oh, and I have a very dear friend who has 4 or more cats - It's hard to tell since you never see them together. She's not crazy but she's not regular, either.

I'm down to two sailboats and two kayaks. And I'm responsible for a pontoon boat.

If you want to sail the Hobie 16 down to Grenada, I'll give you a free week or 10 days in the Grenadines for it.

Why would I sell it after I fix it all up!?!?!?! :D

Of the 2 Force 5s, this one started out a couple years newer and far better kept. I'm bringing it up to my standards to be my go-fast boat. The other one, nicknamed "The shabby boat," will probably get new wood and a polish, and then it goes on the chopping block. After the problems I've found in the nice boat, I can only imagine the world of hurt I'm getting into with the shabby boat. Note that the original plan was to only have one Force 5, but due to the way the timing went, I wound up with two of 'em.

Just curious, have you purchased any Force 5 parts from Weeks Yacht Yard lately? Their website looks like it hasn't been updated since 2011.

Yeah, the site hasn't been updated in a long time, but they are still there and still selling parts. There is thought among the class association that they haven't pulled a hull from a mold in a long time. I called them last fall to order a new gooseneck pin and some replacement mast section collars, and have gotten traveler bearings and a bailer rebuild kit a couple months ago. They no longer have bailers, but Great Lakes Marine Outfitters, www.glmo.net has a nice bailer design with tethered rubber stopper. I ordered a new Perko bow handle from Intensity. My how times have changed - my original handle was chromed aluminum or pot metal. The new handle was stainless steel! Amazing how cheap Chinese SS has driven the price down so far.

Weeks I believe has lost interest in the Force 5 since the death of the owner who was a Force 5 enthusiast and racer. Thanks for the link. I tried to order a auto bailer a while back from Weeks but they stopped making them. I have been using a rubber stopper tied to a string. :) I bought a Laser version but was too big to use without modification to the boat.
