Hi Flor,
Congratulations with the purchase of your Vega
'Mohana'! The Vega is a reliable and seaworthy lady.
Yes, we know the Veersche Meer, have sailed there a couple of
times. We were often in Nieuwpoort. Last time in 1998. On our way
to the IFR in England we had to stay blown about in Nieuwpoort for ten days
because the wind was steady Southwest 7/8. It was a pity but, thanks to the
'kust-tram', we had a good time there.
Which of the three(?) will be the homeport of Mohana? We were always in the
'Koninklijke' and we liked it every time.
About the crazes: when they are deep, first use glasvezelplamuur, then
gelcoat. When not, then only gelcoat. The only problem with the gelcoat is to
find the proper color. What color has Mohana? If she is white, there is a
possibility to get the good color from our technical man Piet van Soest. He
imports all Vega-accessories from Sweden, even speaks Swedish. If you are
interested I can give you his address etc.
Why don't you join our Dutch association (since there is no Belgian one)?
There are more people who did it. As a member you get a lot of information
and social contacts. In Zeeland the 'south-group' of our Kring van Vega-zeilers
organizes interesting events. The subscription is only ƒ 45,00 a year. By
the way: what is the sailnumber of Mohana?
I hope we could help you in a way.
Ciao,
Yvonne Barnasconi (and Hartmut)
