Check for water in bottom of oil pan
The first move most novices (myself included) do when in your situation is pull out the dipstick to look for more water in the oil. If the engine has been run alot lately this may or maynot give a good indication and if your oil on dipstick looks milky you may have more than condensation and should consult a trusted mechanic. If the oil on dipstick looks normal, I would go one step further and take an oil sample from the drain plug at bottom of oil pan. The water (if any) could hide in bottom of pan and not show on the dipstick. It would be the first to drain when plug is removed. If there is water in the pan or milky oil on dipstick or engine seems to have "gained oil" , have it looked at. I hope all oil is uncontaminated and all is well.
