I'm thinking to put axles to my New Hunter 33 Cradle in order to move the yacht from the water. It's only to move it in and out the water and the Cradle will be the one that i'm using to transport my Hunter by sea transport to my country. Do somebody have experience with this and can someone send me a picture of the transformation?

Rolling cradle

We did it, we took our Hunter 30 cradle and added some steel to it and then three mobile home axles. I wish I had a picture to send, we will go to the marina this week and get one for you, if your posting is still here. Wew needed it to pull the boat without taking the mast down, works great. I'll send you photos as soon as possible. Ron & Anne

Ron....I'm interested

Hi Ron, when you get the chance I would appreciate you posting the pictures to "your", cradle on wheels. I have a h27 with a fin keel and my draft is 4.5 ft. It would be great to just back up the gradle in the water and run my boat up into the gradle. Looking forward to the pics.

What are you trying to do?

Save money on hauling and launching? The travel lift and hydraulic yard cradle moving trailers at nearly every boat yard do a nice job eliminating the need for a process that would at a minimum require a truck that almost no sailboat owner I know owns. When I've hired a truck to tow my boat (over the road) it ran me about $75.00 an hour. To launch or beach a boat with 4 to 6 feet of draft that weighs anything more then 2 or 3 tons requires not only the heavy hauling truck, but a ramp that goes deeper and further then most boat launches. Getting my 30 footer from water to cradle and back each year cost less then $250 and that includes a quick bottom pressure wash and is usually done while I am earning money. I'm not saying this is a foolish endeavour, I'm just honestly curious as to what circumstances would make it attractive.

Rolling Cradle or Trailer

Jim, I will have my Hunter at Rapel Lake in Chile. This a dam Lake that has 5 mts difference in level during the year. I have my house there, a ramp that goes deeper and a winch that I normaly use for my other boats. This idea is used by several house owners in the lake in order to clean the boats once or twice a year.
