short haul set up

Hey John, Not knowing what extent you will be trailering, here is what I did for transport to and from winter storage. I got a cradle with the C30 1985 when I bought it. I then found an old triple axle equipment trailer (dozer-tractor) and mounted my cradle to the framework with U bolts and tack welds. The marina sets it in and out of the cradle,on the trailer, then I have a wrecker haul it to my house for winter storage, then back in water in spring. I HATE WINTER!!!

Check your owners manual. My (310) manual has a fairly complete diagram/plan for a cradle.

catalina gave me a plan

and it worked great but the bow and aft was miss marked and I had acoustom cradle built back wards. The problem was that the keel bracketwas to far to the frount and I just had a new one welded in place .The other problem is the frame work is alittle light and It flexes when the boat is moved also the boat is placed on the stand in the fall and by spring the keel sinks and the popits push up into the bottom of the boat I think a six" U chanel should be used.My cost was 900 bucks plus 4 new popits from defender and I delivered the cradle to the boat yard my self.It took two years to get the boat to sit on the cradle the way I wanted . Hey, I have a steel cradle for a C30 sitting in my yard that I would like to get rid of. If anyone wants it, it is there for the taking. You'd be doing me a favor taking it off my hands. Location - South Sore of Long Island Contact me at admin@dweldon.com if you are interested.
