Cradle Damage

After a winter on the cradle I notice some fine deck cracks in the gellcoat of my boat. My cradle was custom made to fit my Beneteau so I know that it is correct. We haul out in the fall with a crane using slings. We are always careful to line up the slings to the correct marks specified by the manufacturer. So what do you think is the cause of the cracks?

Where are the cracks?

I have seen cracks at the cradle pads because they were adjusted too high for the proper fit to the hull.

Deck cracks would not be from the cradle

More than likely your diagnostic is correct in that it is not caused by the cradle. You are probably looking at some stress cracks in the gelcoat. All boats eventually develop some. They have to be watched to make sure it is not any deeper or that they do not let water in the laminate, but other than cosmetic appearance most times they are inconsequential.
