Cracked Swing Keel

Got a slight 5 inch crack in the leadig edge of the swing keel. Rest of keel is fine. Want to fix it. Any recommendations for a quick fix. Just got rudder totally re-done, but don't want to spend the same on the keel at least for this year.You can reply here or send me an e-mail. Appreciate and advice.cpuccio@realmedia.com

Patch

Chip -I would remove the paint from the effected area and put one layer of light cloth over it, then fair with epoxy fairing mix. Then I'd fix it right next winter.How long since the boat was in the water? If the keel dry? If not, I would be careful that you don't either get swelling that will really do damage, or trap water inside to rot things.Justin - O'day Owners' Web
