The port end of our skeg is cracked. Wondering if anyone has experienced this and how you fixed it.

Cherubini Hunters have a rudder skeg, which is pretty flat and flush with the rudder on port and starboard. Do you have a modded rudder skeg that has a wing at the bottom? Do you have a newer h30 with a wing keel deal.
I broke the bottom off my rudder skeg, pintle bearing and all. New skeg was about $450 from Hunter two years ago. They sell just the rough blank without the bearing-took them about 4 weeks to schedule it and make me one and installing it was pretty much a 3/4day, two man, one twelve pack project. I had an extra guy helping so it was a full day, 30 rack job.

There are quite a few threads regarding this problem as seen in "Search". Here is one with a picture: http://forums.hunter.sailboatowners.com/showthread.php?p=500410&highlight=skeg . Seems that a good f/g person could fix you up.
There was also a post recently where the owner removed the skeg. That would make it more like my H37C. Many Cherubini models were designed without them.

I am finding this thread confusing and non-productive. A photo of the area concerned would help a lot.
