The "Y" shaped strut holding the prop shaft on my 1979 Hunter 27 is cracked. Not actually broken, but cracked. Anyone know of a source for these items? The strut broke 12 years from bouncing on a stump. Thanks, Lamar Miller, Hendersonville, NC

It might be posible to have yours rewelded, if the crack isn't complete. I"d try Hunter parts for a new one. Cracked Strut
Thanks Pat. I plan to call Hunter this morning. The cracked strut appears to be bronze. I will have to check about welding. What do you think about "sistering" another piece of steel to the strut and bolting it to the strut? Lamar Miller Hendersonville, NC

Located a welder to repair the strut. This is the second cracked strut on this boat. The previous strut cracked as a result of bouncing up and down on a stump. This was while the boat was anchored in a bayou above Mobile, Alabama to ride out Hurricane Andrew, way back in 1992. Lamar Miller Hendersonville, NC
