Catalina 27 Annapolis
I may be inheriting a Catalina 27 which has been out of the water for about 4 years. I am going to look at it tomorrow but had somebody swing by it today. He told me that there was a crack on the keel, I am not sure if it is where the keel meets the hull or not. Should I be concerned? Obviously a crack is a crack but since I would be getting this boat for free is it something that is easily fixed? I will try and take pictures and post tomorrow after I see it.

If the crack is where the keel and hull meet, then it is the catalina smile. You will need to grind out and fill with epoxy. I just fixed mine 3 weeks ago and had a friend who is a shipwright who guided me. It's not hard to fix. My crack went back about a 1/3 of the way from the front. The cracking is due to the keel flexing and cracking away the fiber glass. It's very common on these boats.
