I was looking at the starboard forward bulkhead of my 2002 Catalina 310 yesterday and noticed what appears to be a hairline crack on the aft face of my starboard bulkhead. However, the crack, if that is what it is, doesn't carry through to the front of the bulkhead. It is positioned about halfway between the hull and the chainplate lower which is attached to the bulkhead to the left of the crack. I showed the attached photos to a friend and he wondered if, perhaps, it is not a crack but an edge joint. The port bulkhead does not have a visible separation like an edge joint. Does anyone have any knowledge of this or have you experienced something similar? If it is a crack, I am going to repair it with Gflex epoxy and a teak doubler. The wood is not wet at all and the chainplates all appear tight and leak proof.
